
Bindu is based in Nepal and works remotely with the Climate and Energy team, contributing to international diffusion of the interactive tools developed by Climate Interactive. A graduate in veterinary science, and a passionate climate campaigner and science communicator, she loves wearing different hats tailored to different contexts.
Motivated by the philosophy that ‘youth are the present’, she believes in leading by example and has coordinated dozens of grassroots campaigns in Nepal and beyond. Over the years, she has worked with several international not-for-profit institutions like CliMates, Rotaract International, WWF, and Tunza Eco-Generation focusing on climate change and sustainability. As an Asia Regional Officer of CliMates and also a World Climate Ambassador of Climate Interactive she has facilitated dozens of World Climate Simulations in Nepal, India, France, and Morocco. She is interested in global governance and has participated in several UN Climate Change Conferences. Before joining Climate Interactive she worked at ICIMOD in the Knowledge Management and Communications Unit, which focuses on intergovernmental learning and knowledge sharing across the eight member countries of the Hindu Kush Himalaya.
Bindu has been honored with several awards and recognitions for her campaigns in sustainable communities and youth empowerment including, the Inspiring UN Volunteers Award, Collegiate Ambassador for Peace, and Eco-generation’s Best Regional Ambassador, to name a few. She was recently listed as 25 female climate leaders shaping 2019.
