Resilience Case Study: Nashville Home Uplift
The Office of Mayor David Briley partnered with Nashville Electric Service (NES) and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in the spring of 2018 to launch Home Uplift in Davidson County, TN.
Davidson County residents have a higher energy burden than the national average, and Home Uplift helps ease low-income homeowners’ energy burden through retrofits at no cost to residents.
While still in its infancy, Home Uplift is growing rapidly; by August 2019, contractors upgraded two hundred homes.

Leadership & Replication
The NES Home Uplift partnership is one of seven pilot programs implemented by TVA within the Tennessee Valley region since the spring of 2018.
The Weatherization Assistance Program is a similar initiative administered by United States Department of Energy that provides funding to groups in all 50 states as well as tribal governments and overseas territories.
